To reduce alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse through collaborative efforts designed to promote healthy lifestyles and drug-free environments.
Substance abuse - the misuse of alcohol, tobacco and both illegal and legal drugs and medications - is by far the greatest cause of premature and preventable illness, disability and death in our society. Substance abuse is a growing problem for communities throughout Oregon, with serious consequences for individuals, families, schools, businesses, and entire communities.
DC CAPS works to mobilize the community to build and maintain safe, healthy and drug free environments. DC CAPS serves as a catalyst for increased citizen participation and community collaboration to prevent and reduce substance abuse. Together we are making a difference in the future of our children, our families, and our community.
