The abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs by youth is a concern for all communities. Youth who use drugs are at an increased risk of life-long dependency, health problems, and involvement in other forms of unhealthy, unproductive behavior.
The DC CAPS Youth Network is dedicated to engaging youth in the process of educating their peers, parents, and the community about the risks of alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse.

- Working with high schools and youth groups throughout Douglas County to produce anti-drug abuse public services announcements for the Annual Truth, Lies, and Videotapes Drug Prevention PSA Challenge.
- Working with middle school throughout Douglas County on an annual drug prevention poster content.
- Hosting a Drug Preventing Teen Summit and Youth Forums.
- Building partnerships with community groups and local media to increase community involvement and awareness of youth drug abuse.
